Whoever thought black is beautiful must have had a very good taste because it is one colour that never fades and also serves as an ideal base for accentuating the decor which was the first thing that caught our eye when we walked into BISTRO1427, a new restaurant in Mylapore. Soon our order arrived with the softest phulkas (I had never seen such melt in the mouth phulkas even in the best restaurants in chennai) accompanied by piping hot side dishes and a main dish, again all the beautifully shaped containers were in black, so were our plates to go with the rest. The food was good, so was the service. We could watch the bustling traffic from the comfort of our seats just by peeping through the window. Nearly a dozen youngsters at the opposite table all set to celebrate their friend’s birthday occasionally diverted our attention with their girlish chatter and laughter in the midst of posing for selfies!
