Hyderabad after bifurcation 15/3/2016

It was our first visit to Hyderabad after Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated and I kept my fingers crossed   regarding the changes the city would have undergone –whether they were for better or worse. The first thing I noticed was the roads from the airport leading to Sainikpuri /Caprall were much cleaner with no garbage peeping out of bins and also no one talking on their mobiles while walking or crossing the road which is a common scene in our city. The distance to our destination was over 50 kilometres which we covered in a little over 90 minutes without any hassle. The metro which has a stop in Tarnaka is expected to commence functioning in a couple of months which I expect will further ease the traffic problems besides coming as a boon to residents in the area.

The first thing I noticed once arriving in Chennai was the wash rooms at the airport didn’t have the necessary paraphernalia (probably because it was the domestic airport unlike the international one in Hyderabad) and it took the same time to reach our destination which was a quarter of the distance !Do I have to say why? So things have not changed in our city for the better, have they?
