Ever since I wrote a book on ‘Madhwas of Madras’ and released it during Madras Day Celebrations, I never expected the kind of reactions which are pleasantly surprising as well as amusing. The past week I ran into some cosmopolitan friends of mine, who were curious to know what the book was all about, picked up a copy and came home to get it autographed. A few others, I ‘m afraid thought it best to borrow it from their nearest relatives and read, yet others piled me with questions wanting to know whether people I profiled were from the past or are still existing, exercising their right to information( RTI). It is not difficult to guess who I mean. I don’t think anyone will dare to steal a copy right from someone’s nose who took the trouble of paying rs.200/ which is the price of the book!
