Happening city 12/1/2016

I don’t think  any other city in our country  caters to divergent  interests and  tastes   with its activities the year round which really puts  those interested in too many like me in  a dilemma. The music  festival  got over  last month  which is followed by dance recitals, coming free, then came the colourful Mylapore festival  where the streets were covered with artistic kolams and some winning prizes for their dezigns,(we saw for  the first time a man coming all the way from abroad to participate in the contest), and now with the fast approaching Pongal, the roads  are getting  even more crowded  with shoppers heading to cloth shops big and small to   add to their already large collection. Again  there are long queues seen at ration shops where the ‘aamadmi/aurat  wait to collect their pongal gift (a sari, veshti, and rs.100/) and the rush is also seen at banks  to check whether  rs.5000/ given by the government  is deposited to their  account (of all those  affected  by the Chennai floods).

I only hope  the spouses don’t squander away  the money in drinking !

Who says Chennai is not a happening city?
