Antibiotics—boon or bane? 11/2/2014

The media is full of articles about a judicious prescription of antibiotics by doctors so that their use doesn’t become  ineffective  after a time. It has been proved  that  antibiotics certainly have side effects as they are all chemical preparations and  doctors too have  come to accept this fact. But in the absence of  recourse to alternative medicines like   homeopathy and ayurveda to fight infections, prescription of   antibiotics have become mandatory by allopathic practitioners  and an indispensable evil to patients as they  suffer from side effects despite taking ant acids and probiotics  to alleviate them.

I wonder  why researchers don’t focus on the above issue which is as important or more than coming out with greater variety of antibiotics though priced exorbitantly haven’t  lessened  their side effects.
