My most adventurous ‘cruising’ experience 04/12/2013

I was pleasantly surprised to learn ‘Brahmaputra cruises’ by Assam Bengal Navigation Company has been recognized by CNN International as one of the top 10 Most Adventurous Cruises in the World for 2013. The news item brought back  memories of  the cruises my husband and I  had undertaken during our tours  within and outside the country and  what according to me was the most adventurous among them all. The cruise to Great Barrier Reef in Canes, the Rhine cruise, cruise to Capri islands, and  a cruise to Papidi Hills in Rajamundry   were  generally seamless.

Since  my experience  had all along been mostly pleasant, excepting for a few bouts of sea sickness occurring while standing on the deck when the catamaran  met rough weather, I  jumped at the opportunity of undertaking a cruise to North Bay  at the foot hills of  Mount Harriet while on our visit to Port Blair. When we were half way to our destination, we were informed that we had to hop into a dingy parked in the midst of  the bay in order to have a peep at the marine life  through its transparent  bottom . One look at the small dingy along side of our ship though held tightly by the boatman  was enough to scare me out of my wits. I had to choose between staying all alone in the ship the whole day until the rest of the party returned from the island or jump a few feet to get a foot hold into the swaying dingy! The cruise by itself might not have been adventurous but  the transfer from the larger vessel to an apology of a boat certainly was!
