Oh, to be in the Garden city!10/07/2012

First thing I observed about the Satabdi to Bangalore was the fall
in standard of the food served on the train, added to it is the struggle involved
to rip open the sachets of nescafe to make your cup of coffee. If you succeed
you feel you have really achieved something great.
But you are well compensated with the buffet spread at woodlands which is still maintaining its standard though I can’t say the same about the several courses lunch.
Yet to go around to notice the changes the city is going through. However I noticed a few while lazing in the lounge. There was a wedding party where the women looked very colourful with trendy clothes of all kind and the men sticking to their informal wear.

You do have problems like the opening the aluminium sachet of roasted peanuts given in the evening Shatabdi to Chennai. Also, in trying to unscrew the cap of the water bottle so full of water, you are sure to spill some water. All this said and done, I am still a die-hard fan of the Shatabdi!. It is a boyish sense of joy to see the train hurtling across platforms, where you used to stroll along when going in slower trains. No where else in the world you get a deal for a train journey like this at such a low cost.
