It was a nice function. I didn’t see the Tourism official on the dais. Will look forward to seeing the book on the Landmark bookshelf.

    1. The event scheduled to take place at the India Tourism office is postponed as the official had to leave Madras urgently on official work.Shall let you know when and where copies of my CFT book would be available.

Though I missed the Book Launch, I glanced throuh the Book at her house.. Its nicely done up and the fotos are really good. But Meera why dont I see you at family functions with your Camera if you arev really such a camera nut? If you are going to write another travel bok I can give you lots of anecdotes and fotos too!

    Dear Meera,

    I enjoyed reading your book.

It is informative – esp, the pictures give a graphic view of each place. There is a liberal
sprinkling of colour photos that brings to life each person and place. Printing of color photos would
have cost you heavily but this makes the book very saleable and anyone travelling abroad will
    definitely pick it up.

The Get up of the book – the multicoloured border on the right edge of each page is pleasing and
original –apt for this type of book that offers entertainment as well as hard facts. Interesting detail
like the guide saying that you should swap seats everyday so as to get acquainted with all fellow
passengers during the 17 day tour of the Continent.

You have a light way of touching upon sensitive facts like the mention of the name “business
ladies” to the women peeping from behind the curtains.

In the Lace makers of Burano as you have given just the right amount of interesting historical detail
in the form of the lovers legend. The episode about Italian and French thieves was hilarious.

Angkor Wat is enlightening I liked your explanation giving the word meaning of ‘Wat’ as ‘Temple’
as well as the details of the wall reliefs portraying ancient scenes. I like your explanation of place
names giving their original meaning. Andaman is Hanuman – was an eye opener. I shall remember

You have given really interesting anecdotes. I enjoyed the legends set in Cambodia and Canada.

However , I wondered at the sudden shift of location from Canada to Kerala

The book is a judicious blend of fact, episode and detail. It has an apt light touch without being
frivolous or lightweight. The pictures would be more appreciated if captions are added.

Wish you more Fun with Writing – it is a great occupation – not just a hobby.

congrats.Yet another feather to your cap — taking the count to 3 feathers, but all heavy feathers not likely to fly off. Latest feather is undoubtedly the photographic skills. Waiting to grab the book.
Meera dorn your travelling shoes and unravel more nature’s wonders.

  5. Hema, your comment was a pleasant surprise ,thanks for your compliment regarding my photographic skills , all the 120 pics. in the book were taken by my non digital cameras ,thinking of bringing out a second edition since the first one is sold out.
