All my friend’s ‘family’ 20/05/2011

Tuntun is very upset because I didn’t take her along with Binbin to the park, said my friend who looked forlorn.

Why didn’t you take her? I asked.

Oh, the problem with  Tuntun is she refuses to walk after a few yards, lamented my friend.

All the more reason for you to take her for a walk more regularly, I suggested.

But she is very adamant. She expects me to take her for a drive instead. You know the other day, she sat on the middle of the road and refused to budge, with the result I had to carry her all the way home, said my friend. It was not easy. In fact the doctor advised her to diet  to shed some weight but  Tuntun is very fond of rich  food,  she continued all in one breath.

But why are ‘you’ looking upset? I asked.

Sweetie too is angry with me because I left her behind, she said in the same vein.

Not only that, Betty too is off colour from morning, she lamented.

But isn’t Betty always given to moods? I asked.

Not often, but she is very short tempered by nature, loses her temper easily, she rued.

Also Betty didn’t like the new arrival, she is rather antagonistic towards her, said my friend.

Where did you pick up  the new arrival from? I asked surprised that my friend was adding one more to her already large brood.

I found her on the kerb, thin and emaciated, I decided to bring  her home and take care of her, she said sounding very sympathetic.

Shall we talk about  your family  for a change? I said quite exasperated listening about her adopted family.

Oh you mean my son and daughter?

They should be o.k. she answered matter of factly.

Sometimes the dogs or cats adopted by us are more grateful than our own children and give us their unconditional love.
